Outmind allows you to use :
1/ Booleans (and, or, except)
2/ Wildcards to search by prefix or suffix
3/ Quotation marks to search for a specific sequence of words
We explain below how to use these parameters in your queries.
1/ Booleans
Outmind allows you to use Boolean operators to refine your searches:
|
means "or" (to access this character, do Option+Shift+L on Mac, Alt Gr+6 on Windows)+
means "and"-
means "except"
👉 For example usecase | (étude + de + case) means "Find documents containing either "usecase" or all of the words "étude", "de" and "cas".
The default operator being the "and", the previous query is equivalent to usecase | étude de cas.
2/ Wildcards
Outmind also allows you to use wildcards via the "*
" operator. Wildcards allow you to search from the beginning or end of a word.
👉 For example "prof*" will find "teacher", "deep", etc. and *ent will find "parent", "accent", etc.
Be careful, wildcards do not work in the middle of a word: "a*magne" will not find "allemagne".
3/ Quotation marks
Finally, use quotation marks to force a search by phrase or sequence of words. Under these conditions, "market research" will not retrieve documents containing, for example, "Adam has conducted several studies on the hearing aid market" even though the words "study", "de" and "market" are present.
Screenshot: Search for anything that begins with "use-" or contains "étude de marché" in that order.
